The Arthur and Mata Jaffe Center for Book Arts at the FAU Libraries on the Boca Raton campus is hosting Dafatir: Contemporary Iraqi Book Arts, a traveling exhibition of books handmade by 17 Iraqi artists. On display in the S.E. Wimberly Library, the exhibition represents the experiences of three generations of artists, some of whom are still living and working in Baghdad, Iraq, while others are in exile. Dafatir, an Arabic word meaning notebook, highlights the flourishing book arts in modern day Iraq and celebrates the persistence of the artistic impulse in a nation troubled by tyranny and war. The classic tale of the Nutcracker is being brought to life by the Boca Ballet Theater.  Children of all ages will be enthralled watching this tale of Clara and the Nutcracker Prince.  A very special Gingerbread Ball will be held after both matinee performances.  FAU Theatre - 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton.  $35 adults, $25 seniors / children.  Visit www.bocaballet.org for times.

Hotel Nightclub and Rock Lobby has become one of my favorite clubs, so I am very excited about this weekend's event.  They are throwing a weekend long Thanksgiving fest. I know my freaky friends and family and I know you will venture into Broward County for the right event.  Tonight is the Leather Masked Ball at Purgatory - 1000 W. SR 84, Fort Lauderdale. Not only is this a fetish-filled event, but it is fetishism for a good cause. Proceeds benefit Tuesday's Angels, a local AIDS foundation and the Leather Archives and Museum.  Meet men and women into the same kinky stuff you are, dance off the calories from all that Thanksgiving food while DJ Sin Morera and DJ Robbie Leslie spin all night long, and get a chance to wear your leather butt less chaps.  Whatever you do, wear your leather / fetish best and a mask or you can't get in! In conjunction with the Howard Alan Fine Art Show (see below), come out today to see the Delray Art League Outdoor Show.  Local artists will display and sell their work at Veterans Park - 802 NE First St., Delray Beach (Atlantic Ave. and Intracoastal).  10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

The enchanting musical version of the fairy tale Cinderella is playing at 2 p.m. today at the Showtime Dance & Performing Arts Center - 503 SE Mizner Blvd, Suite 73, Boca Raton.  Call 561-394-2626 for tickets.  

This is the last day to catch the Intuitive Landscape Exhibit at the Present Global Art Gallery - 5301 S. Dixie Hwy, West Palm Beach.  The exhibit features paintings by Jake Fernandez, Margaret Tolbert and Susan Van Cleve and included pieces in oil and mixed media.  The concept is to represent several vantage points on how a landscape can be depicted.  6-9 p.m.  Call 561-588-1965 for details.

From 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. you can head on down to Pineapple Grove, the arts district of Delray Beach, and peruse some of the country's finest arts & crafts and some of the most unique pieces you have ever laid your eyes upon at the Howard Alan Fine Art Show.  200 NE 2nd Ave., Delray Beach. Today is Sunday Funday at the Norton Museum of Art - 1451 S.
