Perez Hilton / Attacked by Will.i.am?
Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton took to his Twitter page to reveal photos following an alleged attack by Black Eyed Peas member Will.i.am at the MuchMusic Awards on Sunday, June 21.
Perez (born Mario Lavandeira) presented an award at the Canadian award show in Toronto and several hours later posted a picture of himself with a black eye (how ironic) on his Twitter page.
Beginning just after 3a.m., Hilton tweeted about the alleged attack:
• PerezHilton: I’m in shock. I need the police ASAP. Please come to the SoHo Metropolitan Hotel now. Please.
• PerezHilton: I was assaulted by Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas and his security guards. I am bleeding. Please, I need to file a police report. No joke.
• PerezHilton: Still waiting for the police. The bleeding has stopped. I need to document this. Please, can the police come to the SoHo Met Hotel.
While Perez tweeted, Will.i.am posted a video blog of the account.
In the video (see below) the "Boom Boom Pow" star explains, he was deejaying at an after party for the MuchMusic Awards when his bandmate Fergie approached Perez and asked if he had a "problem" with her. Words were exchanged between the blogger and the new bride which left her emotionally upset. Fergie then returned to the dj booth to give Will.i.am the details of the heated conversation.
Although Perez leaves the party, he and Will.i.am bump into one another at another after party at which Will approaches Perez.. He asks the outspoken-writer to not "disrespect" his group while on his blog - Perez says he can't make any promises.
According to Will, more words were exchanged outside of the venue -in front of Black Eyed Peas fans. After Perez began to repeatedly call him a derogatory slur (namely a faggot), Will says he turned and walked away.
Unfortunately, BEP fans weren't as willing to turn the other cheek. Will claims a few upset onlookers got into an altercation with Perez, not him.
Will.i.am stated:
“It just goes to show you how crazy things can get. It’s not that serious. It’s all music and opinion. People make a career out from opinion which is cool but don’t be disrespectful about it. And fans, don't get all crazy about it.......Tonight was a good night…but it was a crazy night.”
Most recently Perez addressed Will via twitter with:
@iamtherealwill There are multiple witnesses. You can deny all you want. The truth is the truth and I am telling the truth. 5:27am June 22nd
