DWTS pros Karina Smirnoff & Maksim Chmerkovskiy are engaged

A little more than six months after Karina Smirnoff announced she and former Dancing with the Stars partner Mario Lopez had ended their two-year relationship, the dancing diva is now engaged to fellow DWTS pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
A source close to the couple told E! News the pair became engaged just moments before the calendar flipped to Jan. 1. (Talk about a Happy New Year!)
Apparently, the betrothal came between DWTS tour dates in Salt Lake City and Tulsa, Okla.
Karina, 30, and fellow Ukraine native Chmerkovskiy, 28, hooked up shortly after she ended her relationship with Mario Lopez.
If you are a fan of DWTS the stars then you probably know Chermkovskiy joined the cast in season two and last season partnered with Misty May-Treanor. Smirnoff has been on since season three, most recently teaming with Rocco DiSpirito.
So far there’s no word on a wedding date, but both are expected back when season eight kicks off March 9.
Congrats to the happy couple.
