My red carpet press pass

As previously reported, I had the privilege of covering the Michael Jackson's This Is It movie premiere in Los Angeles at The Nokia Theatre on Tuesday, October 27.

It was an event filled with glitter, gloves and tons of Hollywood stars. (See: JLo, Will Smith and more attend 'This Is It' premiere)

The day began at the AEG headquarters where I was given a tour and a quick sit down with Senior Vice-President of Content and Production Michael Goldfine. (See: Michael Jackson: 'This Is It' premiere in Los Angeles)

Goldfine not only explained the ins and outs of producing the red carpet show, he also pointed out the significance of having the This Is It premiere at The Nokia Theatre.

"Everything took place here," said Goldfine, referring to Michael Jackson's rehearsals at the Staples Center as well as the memorial services following the King of Pop's untimely death.

Unlike the memorial service, where the tone was very somber, the energy of the premiere was celebratory and light. Goldfine explained, "Today we are celebrating his life!"

After my chat with Goldfine,  I headed down to witness MJ fans dancing to Michael's greatest hits and lining up to possibly catch a glimpse of Hollywood  stars on the red carpet. The celebrity guests included Will Smith, Jennifer Lopez, Anne Heche, the Jackson brothers (all except Randy), Vivica A. Fox, Paris Hilton, Paula Abdul and many more. Once I picked up my press credentials, I headed over to the red carpet with AEG Events Examiner, Susana Capra. That's when the fun began! (Susana handed me a camera but my pictures were no comparison to hers.) Check out the slideshow below as well as more photos here.

As 6P.M. approached, everyone began to file into The Nokia Theatre to finally witness Michael Jackson's This Is It on the big screen. (Along with the free popcorn, I grabbed extra tissue just in case.)

In short, the movie was amazing!

Although the film opened with tearful dancers talking about the importance of working with Michael Jackson, the movie quickly takes an upbeat turn as MJ appeared on screen.

Keeping in mind the footage is from rehearsals, you immediately realize Jackson isn't giving 100 percent. However, AEG Live CEO Randy Phillips pointed out in a previous interview, "Fifty percent of Michael, is better than 100 percent of most entertainers." (See: Examiner exclusive: AEG's Randy Phillips talks This Is It, Michael Jackson and more (Part !)).

If This Is It is any indication of Jackson's life --then it was filled with love for the planet, love for his fans and creating great soulful music that makes you want to dance.

What a great day. This Is It is most definitely a must see!
