Coming off the highly successful Carter III album, rapper Lil Wayne was all set to release his experimental rock album “Rebirth”. Unfortunately for Lil Weezy, Universal Records bosses are worried it might be a flop.
The “Lollipop” hitmaker has already seen his forthcoming disc pushed back from its original April 7th release date to May 19th.
Universal big wigs are cautious of the rock album release considering the first single from the project, "Prom Queen", dropped in January but only reached No. 15 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart.
It’s also rumored Lil Wayne's manager Cortez Bryant has been advised against letting the star press ahead with the project.
A source says, "If Wayne doesn't brighten up, they have to turn into Mr. Evil Record Company and just tell him it's never going to be released." (Yikes.)
Lil Wayne fans, what do you think. Do you agree with the record label or should Wayne release “Rebirth”?
