Next month when the “Good Girl Gone Bad” tour stops in Malaysia, Rihanna won’t be wearing her usual S&M themed garb.
Malaysia has serious restrictions on how women can appear in public. Apparently, female performers must remain covered from the top of her chest, including her shoulders, to her knees.
(If that’s the case, scantily-clad Rihanna has some serious covering up to do!)
The Umbrella star and her stylist team have agreed to tone down her outfits for her February 13th stop in the Muslim-majority country in hopes of deterring any protests.
According to the Associated Press, recent concerts by Gwen Stefani and Avril Lavigne faced protests by conservative Muslim Malaysians over immodest clothes. Stefani eventually made what she called "a major sacrifice" at her show by donning attire that revealed little skin.
However, the Pussycat Dolls didn’t heed the warnings while touring the country in 2006 and were fined over $3k.
Good luck Ri Ri!
