With only days left until ‘Notorious’- the biopic of rapper Christopher “Notorious B.I.G.”, hits theatres it’s now becoming clear why Lil Kim (born Kimberly Denise Jones) is upset with the project.

The pint-size diva wanted to portray herself in the film but the producers refused, citing her weight gain and numerous cosmetic surgeries as a basis for their decision.

“Who can play me better than me?” Kim told producers. To her surprise they all finally agreed ex-3LW member Naturi Naughton could.

“She looks nothing like the Lil Kim from 1996…people change in twelve years,” said ‘Notorious’ executive producers.

Let’s face it. Lil Kim doesn't looks like Lil Kim anymore. How could she really argue? She’s noticeably had a nose job, breast implants and skin bleaching, not to mention her chin and lips look a lot different than when she released her first album Hard Core in 1996.

Despite the rejection, the Lady Marmalade rapper initially supported the film during preproduction saying, “I wish nothing but the best for this movie because I will always have love for Biggie. Although my involvement was limited, I don’t hold a grudge”.

As previously reported, once the film was completed Kim had this to say:

"I’ve had enough and I'm about to expose them both... I've been quiet for a long time ...I'm very disappointed in Faith [Evans]. There's nothing Faith or Ms. Wallace [Biggies Mother] could do to stop me from reppin' B.I.G. all day. I'm gonna always do that... It's time for Ms. Wallace to be exposed."

I wonder what she’ll say next.

Lil Kim’s claim to fame happened when Notorious B.I.G. discovered her in the streets of Brooklyn and brought her into his group, Junior Mafia. She catapulted into success with her sexually raunchy and groundbreaking verse off 1995’s Player’s Anthem, according to Vibe magazine.

“Notorious” opens January 16 in theaters nationwide.

Do you think Naturi Naughton (pictured above) resembles Lil Kim in 1996? Leave a comment.
