Sure, we may have Oprah moving to D.C., but what we really need is Katie Holmes.

Mrs. Tom Cruise is currently starring in the Broadway play "All My Sons" and by several accounts, she is spending her way through Gotham.

We've all seen the many photo ops that Suri and her momma have enjoyed outside of New York City shops.  Apparently Holmes is single-handedly propping up Manhattan's economy dolling out cash left and right.

Credit crunch?  What credit crunch?

The New York Post says Kate Cruise has spent over $14 million in just six months.

Before you go "WHAT?  That's the budget of a small island nation!" just stop and think about it.  She is a celebrity.  She needs three apartments.  Her two-year-old needs gym equipment.  (Yes, gym equipment.  We couldn't have made that one up if we tried.)

What this world needs is more Katie Holmeses.  Then, there would be no recession.
