Partying up!

Their faces are familiar.  But, other than the fact that they live and work in our fine city, how much do we know about the White House press corps?

Not a lot.  They are stoic when they deliver their news -- rarely smiling and almost never injecting opinion.  In this world of cable news punditry and blogging where everyone tells you what they are thinking, we rarely see a personal side to the journalists who sit on the sideline of history.

In fact, the only time we realize they can be anywhere other than standing on the White House lawn is when the President is in Texas or they sit down for a weekend talker like "Washington Week In Review" or "Meet the Press".

Fear not!  We've got a glimpse for you.

Ever wonder how the other half parties?  Well, if the 'other half' is the White House press pool, they get TWO holiday parties every year.  One is decidedly more posh than the other, albeit with longer lines.  Check it out below.

Sadly, not one single sighting of Helen Thomas dancing.  But, it's still interesting to get to know the people who record history, no?
