Hello, neighbor.

The notorious Page Six of the New York Post is reporting that one of the most powerful women in the world is considering becoming our neighbor!

Oprah Winfrey reportedly wants to be close to President-elect Obama, and she's willing to put her money down for it.

Page Six reports she's considering a $50 million Georgetown pad.  For those of you without mental mortgage calculators, that would be more than $250,000 a month (depending of course on how much she puts down and her credit score).

You can check out the 9 bedroom and 8.5 baths shack here.  Or go drive by it in the 1600 block of 28th Street, NW.

But don't you dare bid on it!  We want to be Oprah's friend and this is the best shot we've got.  So, don't blow it for us.

Evidently, her peeps have been scoping out the property but "O" hasn't seen it firsthand yet.  (Kind of important if you're going to plunk down that kind of cash.)  Apparently, she is going to check it out while she is in town for the inauguration late next month.

By the way, accolades are always pouring in when you're Oprah Winfrey, but interestingly enough she has been chosen as PETA's Person of the Year.  The award is in response to Oprah's well-known episode about puppy mills which she dedicated to her late dog Sophie.
