Is the self-proclaimed "King of All Media" going to don a leisure suit and play shuffleboard all day?
Of course not. But, Howard Stern may be quitting his day job at the end of his contract with Sirius-XM satellite radio.
Stern, who recently got married to steady Beth Ostrosky, is saddled to Sirius until 2010 based on a five-year contract he inked. Many say that Stern is the reason that satellite radio still exists and he is said to have been responsible for saving Sirius -- who at the time trailed XM in talent and subscribers.
Now the two companies have merged and together they are struggling to rise above the recession and auto industry failures. Talk of its biggest star retiring is not what they need right now.
Still, Stern has been pondering out loud about the end. Last week, Stern mentioned that he's thinking about retirement although no decision has been made. Lord knows he doesn't need the money...
He also talked about how he would like to spend more time with his new wife and although Stern would be off the radio he would apparently work on several side projects.
