Fighting holidayitis (and a spaghetti monster)!

We have just one week.  Next Wednesday is the big Eve.  How do you concentrate on your tasks at hand when you have so much to do?

Remember senioritis?  The sheer joy you had at your impending graduation meant you could not focus on anything leading up to the big day.

Well, we think this phenomenon of not being able to focus when you are cooking/cleaning/packing/shopping/mailing/wrapping is pretty similar so we are going to call it what it is.  Holidayitis.

As you sit at your computer, knowing you should be getting your work done or your shopping or your postage ordered, we wanted to give you some things to distract you for a little bit.

Together we must unite and battle holidayitis!

First, remember Elf Yourself?  The fine folks at Office Max swept the internets last year with their take on JibJab technology for the holidays.  You elfed yourself, your kid, your dog, your mom.  This year, we recommend you elf your favorite journalist or movie star.  Check out our creation:

Elf away here.

You've five cracks at it.  They even have other dances this year from which to choose.  Do the funniest thing you can think of and send it to your friends and help them battle holidayitis too.

Believe it or not, this technology is not limited to one site.  There's another one out there called Made Up Memories.

That site will let you create your own little mini saga.  It goes way beyond just dancing.  Again, we recommend you use famous faces.  It makes it all the more giggleworthy.

As you can see from the above picture, we've given Oprah -- who just joined HBO -- the title she really yearns for: Superhero.

See our clip here or make your own here.

For more info: Read about Oprah's move to the cable net here.  Check out our coverage of Bill O'Reilly here.  See Amy Poehler say goodbye to Saturday Night Live here. Figure out the smartest person in TV here.
