Pres-to-be's favorite movie president? Jeff Bridges

America, get to know your new president.

Not important things like health care or the economy...  there will be time for that.  We all deserve a mental break, most especially President-elect Barack Obama's team.

We've been hashing out Obama's and McCain's influence on Pop Culture for months (years, really).  Now, we're getting to see the pop culture impact on the man we elected.

So, if you want to kick back like a president-to-be, check out Obama's picks for television and movies at magazine Entertainment Weekly's site.  The interview was done well before yesterday's results.  But, the findings are insightful!

For example, did you know that he and the next first lady disagree about American Idol?  That is so American of him!

Obama also told EW he likes Sports Center and "The Godfather" movies.  That is so male of him!

Despite SNL's influence with the Republican candidates this campaign season, Obama did not weigh in on the seminal sketch comedy show, Saturday Night Live.

But, there's enough interesting stuff in the article to take that mental break I said we needed.  In my own crude way, I have determined that our new president is both American and male.  I am not sure what that tells us about our health care or the economy.   But, I always love to read about other people's picks for stuff like this.  And if the guy is moving to DC, we ought to know what kind of baggage he is bringing with him, don't you think?

When you're done taking a mental break, go back to pondering the extraordinary events of this election and how blessed we all are to have been able to participate in it.
