The Obama Campaign has snapped up TV time.

Getting sick of the presidential candidates?

Well, tough toenails!  You'll have to see more of at least one of them if you are going to turn on your television set on Wednesday, October 29.

Senator Barack Obama has ordered up thirty minutes on at least two networks...  NBC and CBS for the Wednesday before election day.  Reports are that the Democrat's Presidential Campaign is spending close to a million for each slot.

Although it's not been confirmed by the campaign, Obama's believed to have purchased the 8PM slot to kick off election week.

I'll admit it.  I'm a little jealous and wish I could buy myself some primetime television.  I just don't know what I would do with it, hopefully the Obama campaign's got something in mind.

If it feels like you've already been seeing way more of Senator Obama over Senator McCain, that's because you have.  Television industry analysts Broadcasting & Cable say the Obama campaign is outspending the McCain campaign by leaps and bounds.

B&C quotes a study at the University of Wisconsin that used data to track the spending and came up with these numbers:  In just one week (September 28 - October 4) both campaigns sunk more than $28M into television ads -- mostly in battleground states.  While McCain was no cheapskate at $11M, Obama was way over that with $17.5M.  The figures represent $10M more than the same week in the Bush and Kerry campaigns in 2004.

The study also found that nearly 100% of McCain's ads were negative, while Obama's during the same week were negative 34% of the time.
