There are many forms of healing. Our western society generally relieves the symptoms of dis-ease but not necessarily the original cause of dis-ease. Most illness originates on a mental or emotional level. In the case of the extremely young who haven’t had much life experience, the cause often originates from a past life on a soul level.
The use of spiritual healing as an adjunct to allopathic medicine has proven to be beneficial. Medical doctors and hospitals are incorporating Reiki as a modality for healing prior to surgery as well as after procedures. Reiki is a method of stress reduction that also promotes healing. Practitioners have used it for more than 90 years. It has become more common and well known. A study in 2002 indicated that over one million adults in the U.S. received one or more Reiki sessions. Physicians and nurses are beginning to recognize its value and have begun adding it to services provided by hospitals, medical clinics, and hospice programs. They indicate that Reiki reduces stress, decreases the need for pain medication, improves sleep and appetite, and accelerates the healing process. You can find a list of Reiki hospitals now through an easy Google search.
Reiki has been offered it at my store and center, The Crystal Garden, for almost 20 years now. Anyone and everyone can learn and practice Reiki. Reiki is normally offered in 3 levels. In Level 1 you learn the history of Reiki, how to connect with the universal energy, give yourself Reiki and to conduct a Reiki session. You normally receive a Reiki 1 manual and certificate. In Level 2 you learn the Reiki symbols to magnify the effects of this ancient healing art. You also usually learn how to deepen your ability to channel universal life force energy for yourself and others. Level 3 is the Master Level and it is intended to “initiate” you to be able to teach others Level 1 and Level 2.
This is all good and yet it is my belief that we all have spiritual healing abilities innately stored within. Life force energy flows through everyone. This is proven over and over again when a mother will hold her hand over her child’s boo-boo and make it better. She is channeling her love through her hands to her child. You, too, can do this just as a mother would for her child. Simply focusing love flowing through you to the person in need of healing and assistance works wonders. It works on all levels – physically, spiritually, mentally and emotionally – in conjunction with whatever is your normal process for receiving medical attention. Whether you use homeopathic, allopathic, chiropractic or acupuncture, the use of spiritual healing magnifies the intention of healing.
While I apprenticed with a Peruvian Medicine Man for about 2 years, I learned a variety of techniques to assist others in healing issues that were the source of their current dis-ease. Over the past 10 years of working as a trained spiritual healer it has become evident that most dis-ease stems from childhood trauma or issues as well as past life challenges left unresolved. Return to the source of the mental or emotional challenge or issue. Bring awareness to it, heal it and refill that “space” with love, heals the emotional and mental wound thereby healing the physical challenge in conjunction with the traditional medicine being utilized. The power of self-observation and self-awareness should never be underestimated!
