It was a glorious evening for two of the entertainment industry’s brightest young stars, Selena Gomez and David Archuleta, both garnering a coveted ALMA Award at Royce Auditorium in Los Angeles, September 17, 2009.
Archuleta, who also performed at the ceremony, received honors in the Male Music Rising Star category and Gomez was designated Best Comedy Actress in television for her portrayal of Alex Russo in the hit Disney Channel series Wizards of Waverly Place.
Also picking up awards for their behind-the-scenes artistic contributions were “Twilight” hair stylist Mary Ann Valdes and makeup artist Jeanne Van Phue.
The ALMA’s, celebrates outstanding achievements of Latinos in the entertainment industry and this year’s show, “The 2009 ALMA Awards,” will be broadcast exclusively on the ABC Television Network Friday, September 18, 2009 at 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.
