The nights are getting cooler, the sun's going down earlier and the local high school’s marching band is practicing every night. That must mean only one thing: It’s Football Season, again!

In college football, Thursday night marked the beginning five days of an exciting season. Also, preseason NFL football started Thursday night. (Yay, Bengals!) Tonight is the first home game for our local high school football team. Which will be my favorite locale for many Friday nights this fall; as my daughter finishes her senior year in marching band and my son blocks as defensive end. Still weird to hear the crowd cheering his name as he stops the opponent's quarter back.

Grab your hot chocolate, or whatever libation you chose, and let the (card) games begin!

Jukem
Fantastic card game created by a dad wanting to help his kids with their math homework.
From the Jukem web site:
Jukem is the Anytime, Anywhere Football Card Game. Play it at Tailgates, parties, game nights, and anytime you are on the go. Brings football fans together and offers a variety of ways to play the game.

  • For 2-4 players, ages eight to adult.
  • Takes approximately 20 minutes to play and seconds to learn.
  • Jukem has been played in classrooms from first grade through high school. With games becoming more and more popular in the classroom, this game is perfect to help students develop their math skills.

This summer, Jukem was a sponsor of 13 youth football camps throughout the country. Here are pictures of Jukem being played at Chicago Bear's Devin Hester Youth Football Camp and Viking's Adrian Peterson working with the young players at his camp.

Should be available soon on the Jukem web site, Amazon.com and many retail locations in the US. Check the web site.
