People magazine will be the first to reveal the most recent photos of a 29 year old Jaycee Dugard (here's a sneak preview) since her kidnapping by Phillip Garrido at age 11.

Most of us are familiar with a very young Jaycee Dugard, who surprisingly looks very much like the picture generated by imaging machines by the National Center for Missing Children when she was kidnapped. With the exception of her styling a brunette look instead of her blonde locks, the resemblance was astoundingly close.

Inside the issue of People there are photographs showing a very content and joyful Jaycee who has been reunited with a mother who is relieved to have her alive and safe. Along with sister Shayna, and daughters Angel, 15, and Starlit 11 both girls are the biological daughters she had with her kidnapper, Garrido 58 and accomplice wife Nancy 54.

Although People magazine (out this Friday) is featuring Jaycee Dugard and her girls, the girls are pictured but their faces are not revealed, and we can all understand why. They are struggling hard not to become a circus act for all to gawk at and point fingers to.

Spokeswoman Erika Schulte said this about Jaycee, “This was a kind of Thank you to people who have expressed their support and shared their joy for her” she further added, “She’s eager to live a quiet life right now with her daughters, mother and sister.” Jaycee agreed to be featured because she knows people are curious about who they are, what they look like, she is trying to quench curiosity, but mostly she is ready to return to private life.

After this traumatic and devastating experience I imagine the last thing they need is to be put up for ‘public viewing.’  Everyone needs to understand the need they must feel in trying to come to terms with a disturbing past while trying to grasp a life changed and a world that looks at them with inquiring eyes. They have many challenges to face and overcome, hopefully this family will be able to adjust and come to terms with their lives and rise above it all.
