Are these legends together in the All-Time starting 5?

Talk about a Lazy Sunday.

The Los Angeles Lakers don't have a game Sunday for the first time I can remember, so I figured I'd pose a thought-provoking question to keep our minds bleeding Purple and Gold.

So, the Lakers have had plenty of great players over the years. But which five would you choose to be the Los Angeles Lakers' All-Time starting five?

It seems like an easy question, and some positions (namely point guard) are not really debatable. Others are deceptively difficult.

For the purposes of making this a little more accurate, you have to have each Laker play their NATURAL position. No putting Kobe Bryant at small forward just to make room for Jerry West. No conveniently sliding James Worthy to the power forward. This is about making decisions.

Here is what mine would be, and it certainly wasn't easy:

  • PG - Magic Johnson
  • SG - Kobe Bryant
  • SF - Elgin Baylor
  • PF - Robert Horry
  • C -  Shaquille O'Neal

Ok, let the argument begin. My youth is clearly on display, but I'm aware of it. I had to take Kobe because he's the best basketball player I've ever seen in person. I had to take Shaq because I never had the luxury of seeing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar or George Mikan in his prime.

I was honestly scratching my head for a true power forward. I even asked my father and he came up blank. So I decided to go with Big Shot Bob, who saved the Lakers' championship hopes on numerous occasions.

I know I will probably incur some wrath, but that's what this question is all about. I stick by my decisions, as you should stick by yours.

Please leave your lineups and some sort of reasoning behind them in the comments section. Enjoy.
