The Los Angeles Lakers started off their six-game road trip by beating the Minnesota Timberwolves Friday, 132-119.

It was the highest single-game point total for the Lakers this season.

The Lakers were led, once again, by the stellar play of Andrew Bynum (27 points, 15 rebounds, 2 blocks), who lived up to his newly-given nickname, Bynumite, by showing explosiveness on both ends of the floor.

The Wolves were playing better then their record coming into the game, with a 10-3 mark in January.

Despite an impressive performance by their franchise player, Al Jefferson (34 points, 13 rebounds), the Wolves were just out-manned by the larger, more athletic Lakers. The Wolves cut the lead to single-digits in the fourth, but Kobe Bryant responded with a couple of tough shots to keep the game out of reach.

It was an important victory for the Lakers, who need to take care of business against the weaker teams at the beginning of this road trip before ending it with games against the Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers.

They didn't get much of a challenge tonight, and this wolf probably would have given them a better game:
