According to Mike Bresnahan of the L.A. Times, both Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol will miss tonight's game versus the Memphis Grizzlies.

Bynum's right elbow was injured during Wednesday's win over the Houston Rockets when the enforcer, Chuck Hayes, committed a hard foul to prevent Bynum from scoring. Probably a good idea for Bynum not to play tonight, given his unfortunate injury history against the Grizz.

Gasol has been nursing a hamstring injury for weeks now, and although he is getting close to a return, he doesn't want to push it.

All this could result in a start for backup center DJ Mbenga. Words I never thought I would hear:

"And now...starting at center...for your World Champion L.A. Lakers: D...J...Mbeeeeeeengaaaaaaaaaa!"

It's been a great  year already.
