The watch you see here is the top of the line in the new Nubeo Black Mamba line. The outer face and bezel are covered in whiskey colored sapphire crystals making for a stellar look on the large 48mm wide cased timepiece that is as much a piece of art as it is a solid time telling instrument. I had an opportunity to have a private viewing of the watch collection - and this was an amazing watch to behold.
The Nubeo Black Mamba is named after Kobe Bryant, who had a role in designing the watch. Think of it as the "Kobe Bryant" watch. The details on the Black Mamba are more than you'd expect on a watch - this is a true intersection between a detail-rich piece of men's jewelry and a unique timepiece with character worth its price. Designer Ivan Castro, a Spaniard turned Swiss resident is a jewelry maker by trade, though has a deep connection with timepiece. This was his vision for his special type of modern bio-organic styling and avant-garde cool. The design really shook up the world of haute horology, but the execution totally works. This watch retails for about $285,000, while the Black Mamba line of watches starts at about $25,000. Read more about the Black Mamba watches here on Luxist.com.
