I love Jackie Mason.

Yes, I love me some Jackie Mason.

During a performance at Feinstein’s at Loews Regency in NYC last Friday night, Jewish comedian Jackie Mason used the term “schwartza” to describe President Barack Obama.

If you’ve been following the heretofore irrelevant comedian, he’s been producing “V-Logs” of his commentary/comedy, most routinely in derision of President Obama.

Some claim that the term “schwarza” is generic as a descriptor of a Black person. Others say it is akin to the N-word.

“I’m not going to defend myself. Chris Rock has told a lot more jokes about whites than I have against blacks. What about the demeaning words Blacks say about Jews?” - Jackie Mason

Do remember, Mason once referred to former New York Mayor David Dinkins as a “fancy schwartza with a mustache”…meaning, Mason has covered this unfunny ground before. There’s a pattern here in his characterization of influential and powerful African-Americans.

As I said, I love Jackie Mason. Mo’Kelly loves him some Jackie Mason. And why, you might ask?

Well…anytime an unfunny, unimportant has-been/never-was comedian puts his foot this far in his mouth; it allows Mo’Kelly to put his very funny boot so far up his ass that Mason’s dentures will read “Timberland – Steel Toe.”

Let’s be very clear. “Schwartza” is a very, very old term. Let’s be clear, there aren’t many very, very, old terms or slang for African-American people in other languages that aren’t akin to the N-word.

Kaffir – That’s what a “Black person” is called in Afrikaans. And if you should ask any Afrikaaners…they probably don’t find it “offensive” to Black people either. Black people on the other hand are quite clear.

Moulie – That’s what a “Black person” is called in Italian slang. Not surprisingly, if you should ask Italians, opinion will likely be divided on whether it is “offensive” or demeaning to Black people. Black people on the other hand are quite clear and there is no ambiguity.

Coon/Darkie/Spook/Porch Monkey – That’s what a “Black person” was called in English slang in the southern United States once upon a time. If you asked the Southerners who uttered the term(s), they too would likely not find it “offensive” to Black people.

You get Mo’Kelly’s point.  There simply aren’t “neutral” terms for Black people in other languages that aren’t loaded with “baggage” and derision.

The comic said…

“I’m an old Jew. I was raised in a Jewish family where ’schwartza’ was used. It’s not a demeaning word and I’m not going to defend myself.”

By this twisted logic, we can surmise conversely that any reference to Jews made by Black men raised in Black families decades ago are then by definition inoffensive and innocuous.

Anyone with a reasonable portion of common sense knows this not to be true. Anyone with a reasonable helping of intelligence or a modicum of decency knows this not to be true.

Jackie on the other hand, has never been known for anything approaching decency and surely isn’t the go-to guy on what’s offensive to African-Americans. And just because you’ve been “saying it” for 60 years Jackie, it doesn’t somehow mitigate your overall stupidity.

Let’s go further with reason and common sense.

Is it “reasonable” to think that after the many soliloquies and v-logs lambasting the president on a professional and personal level, that ANY reference to his color isn’t ALSO an insult? How President Obama’s color is relevant in any critique about his effectiveness as a world leader, Mo’Kelly isn’t sure. But Mo’Kelly IS though sure about the following…

“Chris Rock has told a lot more jokes about whites than I have against Blacks. What about the demeaning words blacks say about Jews?”

So Jackie’s really saying it IS offensive…otherwise, no need to make any “comparisons” to Chris Rock. There would be no need to talk about the supposed offensive nature of Black comedy towards Jews if in fact there was no ill intent behind the “schwartza” remark.

“It’s not a demeaning word and I’m not going to defend myself.”

Oh, so NOW Jackie’s saying it is NOT a demeaning word…which is it? Pick one silly argument and stick to it. And YES, when you mention Chris Rock AND your Jewish family upbringing…you ARE in fact defending yourself. Make up your mind, you crazy, old, miscreant.

Jackie is exhibiting all the classic signs of Alzheimer’s. He can’t remember what he said or did 2 minutes prior. Could this man find his way home if we blindfolded him, spun him around 5 times and then dropped him off at the grocery store down the street from where he lives? Mo’Kelly thinks not.

Clearly he’s lost and the lights are dimming upstairs.

In terms of Chris Rock…Rock is an equal opportunity offender. Anyone knowledgeable about the breath and depth of his humor is acutely aware that Rock is “harder” on African-Americans and more derisive in his comedy towards Black people. This isn’t even up for debate. (Please note, harsh language which may be deemed as offensive in the clips below.)

In addition, Mason uses “Jews” and “Whites” interchangeably to suit his “non-defending” yet really defending himself argument. Reality and American history have shown us that “Whites” don’t use the two groups/names interchangeably, so it’s odd at best to understand why Mason does.

“What about the demeaning words Blacks say about Jews?”

Jackie, are you generalizing about the whole of Africans in America or are you talking about Black comedians?

“Chris Rock has told a lot more jokes about whites than I have against blacks.”

See above, Jackie, is co-opting the whole of Whites, instead of keeping his “non-defense” within the realm of Black comedians and Jewish comedians.

Jackie, make up your unfunny, senile mind please. And you’re walking the wrong way from the grocery store. Home is in the OTHER direction.

Can the same (equal opportunity offender) be said about Jackie Mason and his humor about Jewish people? There is a distinction to be made here and again let’s be clear. The question isn’t whether Mason tells “Jewish jokes”…clearly he does. The question is whether in Mason’s comedy he manages to offend Jews with the use of questionable nomenclature in the way he offends other racial groups.

Mo’Kelly says no, clearly he doesn’t. Not only that, you will not find any Chris Rock comedy routine featuring the word “Kike.”

But wait, there’s more…

In one last attempt to both ridicule himself and unimportant career, Mason lashed out at Oprah Winfrey…as if she has anything to do with this.

“I’m more talented than Oprah Winfrey and look at how much she makes. I can’t even make a living.”

Actually Jackie, you’re not and it’s not even close. The reason you can’t make a living is because you’re not funny. Being “funny” is usually pretty important when it comes to successful comedy careers. If you’re 72 and still haven’t figured that out…uh, that’s a Mason problem, not a “schwartza” problem.

Somebody please go get Jackie Mason and walk him home safely.
