Barack Obama, winner of the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize

As President Obama took office, students across the Nation have been inspired and motivated to work hard.

This morning, October 9, 2009, it has been announced that President Obama is the 2009 recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. While he has not accomplished any major peace act, the prize is for the efforts he has put forth towards that end.

Teachers can take this opportunity to teach students about the Nobel Peace Prize and motivate them towards peace-making in the classroom and the world.
