Monthly Tip from Thinking Organized

Homework is often a time of struggle for many parents and children. Here are some tips to help ease the pain and help homework time go more smoothly.

1. Schedule homework into the day. This means knowing what time homework will start, end and where it will happen.
2. Avoid procrastination. Thinking Organized provides a guess/actual timesheet that can help students know what they must accomplish and have a general idea of how long it will take to finish.
3. Take breaks every 15-30 minutes or between tasks.
4. Have a positive reward for when homework is completed to give students something to look forward to.
5. Pair up easy or enjoyable tasks with more difficult tasks.
6. Parents need to be active with their child’s homework.
