It is that unfortunate time of year again where all of Southern California must worry when and where the next fire will hit. Southern California began its fire season with the still-burning Station Fire, which is located north of Los Angeles and as of yesterday was 94% contained. Since the end of August Station Fire has burned over 160,000 acres. All of Southern California is being given a red flag warning from now until Thursday night.

This morning around 10:30 a.m. a fire begun in Fillmore, which is a wind driven fire and is moving towards Moorpark. They are already suggesting evacuations for Moorpark residents. According to Captain Ron Oatman of the Ventura County Fire Department evacuations are set for residents in the unincorporated area of Moorpark located north of Broadway, east of Grimes Canyon Road and south of Guiberson. At this point the fire is only 1% contained. Fire officials are predicating that this fire is only going to get worse, especially when the sun begins to set.
