According to the Associated Press, the Los Angeles County Coroner has declared Michael Jackson’s death a homicide by his personal physician, Las Vegas cardiologist, Dr. Conrad Murray. When under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department Dr. Murray told detectives that he had been treating Michael Jackson for six weeks for insomnia issues.
Dr. Murray states every night he’d been prescribing Michael Jackson 50 milligrams of propofol. However, Murray states he feared the King of Pop was forming an addiction to propofol; therefore, he lowered his dosage from 50 milligrams to 25 milligrams and replaced its high milligrams intake with two additional sedatives - lorazepam and midazolam.
Outside sources have stated that the Los Angeles County Coroner believes Dr. Murray provided Michael Jackson with a dangerous combination of drugs. According to forensic testing, the combination of propofol with the two sedatives is responsible for Jackson’s sudden death on June 25, 2009. The Los Angeles Police Department is still investigating Dr. Murray for charges of manslaughter for his fatal administration of drugs to Michael Jackson.
