Guitar ace Mimi Fox plays free Los Gatos show

If you work anywhere around Silicon Valley, you've got a a great option to wait out the rush hour traffic Wednesday.
Guitarist Mimi Fox will play a free show starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Town Plaza in Los Gatos, part of the Jazz on the Plazz series.
And if you've never seen Fox before, you're in for a treat. An incredibly nimble stylist, she manages to cram almost the whole history of jazz guitar (Django, Wes Montgomery, Joe Pass, etc.) into her sound while still presenting a distinctive and personal voice.
Her admirers are legion, and lately they've come to include rock shredder Steve Vai, whose Favored Nations record label has released Fox's last few recordings.
