A few articles back, I wrote about Prop 8 protest rallies, and using common sense when you take your furry friend around town with you.
LA Voter responded with some good common sense which you should check out, if you haven't seen it.
As much as we like taking our pets with us, and showing them the world as we see it... do they really enjoy sitting in the car, waiting for our return? I drive a convertible, and as much as I know Angel enjoys sitting in the backseat with the top down, I know she does not enjoy sitting in that same car waiting for me while I run in to buy groceries, or pick up coffee. Even when I tell her, "I'll be right back," and I'd like to think she understands me, she has this horrified expression on her face, wondering if I'll ever return. It's just not fun for her to sit and wait.
I love having her with me, I really do, but I know that not all places are pet friendly, and leaving her in the car by herself even on a cool day is not the fun togetherness she craves. Sometimes, it's a better idea just to leave your dog at home, even with the television or radio on, rather than making the poor pooch wait restlessly in the car. Angel likes to catch up on her television viewing while I'm out at the gym, or out at dinner with friends.
Especially during hot weather as we are having currently, please use common sense and don't leave your dog in the car. What might be okay for a little while in cool weather is definitely not good for your pet's health in hot weather.
I've been told there are some great doggie day care spots in the Los Angeles area. Anyone want to share their favorite?
