On these last blazing hot summer days, it is great to escape to locations near the water and Andria's Seafood Restaurant and Market at Ventura Harbor Village is a great place to stop. Located at the Marina at the Channel Islands, you will not lack for a better location to view boats docked and setting sail as you enjoy the fresh catch of the day.
A trio of us decide to stop at Andrias for a late lunch. Leo opts for the healthy baked swordfish with rice pilaf and coleslaw. Norm has the fried fish with a pasta salad. Being a good comfort food reporter, I try the classic comfort food of "original fish and chips". Swordfish is tastes similar to Salmon and Leo found it to be a good meal. Norm, thought the pasta salad needed salt but was other wise a good pasta salad consisting of large spirals of pasta and olives.

My take on the fish and chips is that is is fresh tasting. The fries/chips could have been more fresh and crisp. However, they may have been soaked with oil from the chips resting on them. There are plenty of condiments like hot sauce, vinegar and cocktail sauce to enhance the experience.
The restaurant doubles as a market so one has to stand online to place an order then you wait for your number to be called. As for pricing, it is seafood so the lowest meal is around $9.99. There is seating inside as well as outside on the marina grounds. For a simply wonderful outing this is a great get away. It is also located across from the beach.
