No place more in the world will you see people truly uncomfortable with unhealthy food options on a menu despite how appetizing the entrée may come across to the outside world than in Los Angeles. There are probably more orders of burgers with out bread or on wheat bread than anywhere else. Tons of Angelenos flock to the Good Earth, known for their healthy menu. Some people do not consider healthy spots comfort food but I beg to differ. Many people are only comfortable with healthier foods such as brown rice, buckwheat pancakes, and butter instead or margarine. Good Earth restaurants pride themselves on having the freshest ingredients and maximizing nutritional qualities
My friend Leonardo and I visited a Good Earth restaurant in Westwood Village on Broxton Ave. during the Los Angeles Film Festival. Knowing that Leonardo is a health nut, I suggest the Good Earth restaurant. I know it only by reputation. This would be my first visit to the very attractive bright restaurant with Roman architectural influence including marble tables and columns. The walls are rich yellow. The tables and booths mix copper and brown together. When you enter, you can see that it is a simple yet impressive looking two level establishment.

Just starting the day, we order from the breakfast menu. He orders an omelet with spinach and filled with cream cheese. This dish comes with a side. Leonardo chooses brown rice. He is pleased with the meal. I opt for the buckwheat pancakes which come with an absolutely delightful syrup combination of molasses and honey. The pancakes are sizeable and delicious. It comes with a scrambled eggs blended with spinach and turkey sausage to round out a scrumptious breakfast. Our meals with juice and coffee total almost thirty dollars.
Given that restaurant review was unannounced, I am always pleased when service is good under those circumstances. The waitress was good with refilling our drinks and checking on our table. However, the restaurant was rather empty on a Saturday morning. My only complaint is that breakfast was served warm instead of hot.
Good Earth has a wide variety of items on the menu including healthy burger options, salads, south of the border items and extensive fish and poultry dishes. There is another Good Earth restaurant located in on Ventura Blvd in Studio City. For more information visit: http://www.goodearthla.com/
