When it comes to memorable venues, H Street might be the only DC neighborhood that can boast of its own country club, among its many attractions. (And if you are in the know, then you are already aware that the H Street Country Club also has the city's only indoor golf course.)

The H Street Country Club is only one of many H Street venues that will participate in the H Street NE Festival 2009 on Saturday, September 19, 2009.

From Noon to 6pm, you can be entertained by live music, participate in speed chess tournaments, plus see decorated art cars and an extreme fantasy hairdo show.

For kids there will be yo-yo demonstrations, face painting, a kids clothing fashion show, a moonbounce first tee gold lessons and baby loves disco.

If what you have read so far didn't clue you into H Street's unique nature, special events for the festival also include a battle of the junk bands and a guitars NOT guns blues guitar raffle.

If you have never been to the Atlas District (AKA H Street NE), this is the time to go. They are making it easy by offering free bike valet and free shuttle bus service to and from Chinatown, Union Station, Barracks Row and Eastern Market.
