Did you miss one of the upcoming films nominated for a Best Picture Oscar? Maybe you missed two or worse yet, maybe you missed all five. Not to fear! AMC is here. The theater conglomerate will once again be presenting all the Best Picture nominations for this year's Oscars back to back. That's a whole ton of high quality movie watching.
The event will take place on Saturday Feb. 21 in 97 AMC theaters across the country. That's going to cover 42 markets in the US, meaning if you live near a major city you'll probably have a chance to sit on your butt and watch movies all day. In case you don't read magazines, newspapers, the internet or watch television the five films you'll get to see at the event are Milk, The Reader, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Slumdog Millionaire and Frost/Nixon.
But wait, what about food and sustenance? Well a true film lover wants not of such things, but if you are simply a normal film lover you'll probably want to eat during the day. Luckily AMC is giving everyone who attends a free large popcorn that they can refill all day long. Again though many people require more sustenance than a giant bag of popcorn. Thankfully leaving the theater at any time will be easy as all attendees will be wearing commemorative lanyards which will feature artwork from all five movies. So if you've already seen Benjamin Button go grab some drinks and come back and catch Slumdog Millionaire. That simple.
Passes for the event are $30 (or $25 if you've sold your soul to the movie companies and are a MovieWatcher member) and are on sale now. Head over to AMC's Best Picture Showcase site to order up your tickets or see if a theater is in your area. Look out for coverage of the event right here at Examiner.com as we'll be recounting why these films are so amazing live from the event.
