Nothing like getting your pants scared off you to help celebrate a new year, right? However, Hollywood doesn't always see January as the place for horror films. Luckily, the best horror films don't come out of Hollywood they come out the indie circuit and one of the preeminent horror film festivals in the country, After Dark Horrorfest, is delivering a few to us. You may have seen their 8 Films to Die for if you peruse the horror sections of your local video store or Netflix.
But who wants to see some of the best new horror films out there on DVD? The big screen is where it is at. From Jan. 9-15 Union Station 9 Theater will be hosting Horrorfest III. Unlike many festivals that focus on only one genre of horror, Horrorfest really nails it to a wide range. From a psychological thriller like The Broken to the blood baths like Dying Breed. Also a plus is that most of these films have a budget of some sort. You won't be seeing anything that looks like it was shot on a cheap camera by two teens in their back yard -- unless that's what it's supposed to look like. Here's a quick run down of the films being shown.
