Fox News is reporting that GM is going to close 20 plants.  This is probably going to be the trend over the next period of time as the manufacturers continue to try and figure out how to move forward.

It is amazing how much politics is playing into this.  The fingerpointing is reaching epic proportion as if the blame game will result in positive outcomes.  Please.  The crisis belongs to the US manufacturers and the UAW for it's stranglehold on innovation in terms of the business being able to respond quickly enough to the demands of the market.

Enough bailouts.  Let them declare bankruptcy and restructure.  The world will still revolve.  They are not going to go away so don't believe the hype.  Remember all of the re-structuring and bankrupcy declerations of the airlines?  They're still around.

The unions are ramping up their scare tactics trying to convince Americans that the US economy will collapse without taxpayers funding Union demands.  I don't buy into that and neither should you.  Take your lumps and be part of the solution, not part of the problem.
