Last week Pastor Steven Anderson of Faithful Word Baptist Church near Tempe Arizona was on his way home from San Diego when he was pulled over at one of the Border Patrol’s Internal Check Points just a bit west of Yuma. In the process of being questioned, Pastor Anderson was also asked to pop the lid of his trunk and allow the officers to do a general search of his vehicle. Anderson, quoting that his constitutional right in the fourth amendment states that he does not have to submit to a search of his property without a search warrant, was astonished at the response he got.

Anderson explains his story in a new video posted on Tangle.com at the end of last week. You can see in the video that Anderson is indeed injured. Somehow he had the wits about him to take video of some of the incident as it unfolds, which includes a series of events that now set the stage for a court battle. Anderson’s car windows were broken by officials and he was drug from the car, repeatedly assaulted with tazers and ended up with glass embedded in his face as one officer puts his foot on Anderson’s head, forcing him to stay on the ground. Anderson has been summoned to a pre-trial legal conference call on June 12th in order for the court to have a greater understanding of the events that took place.

Many Christians are in an uproar over the treatment of the Pastor and yet also question his unwillingness to submit to the local governing authorities when it came to answering questions and searching his vehicle. According to the Bible, we are to be governed by the laws under which we live and submit to those laws. (Romans 13: 1-7)  The subsequent search of the Pastor's vehicle turned up nothing illegal, just as Anderson told the officers it would and yet, due to his actions, he was arrested for not complying with the law and must face those charges.  Check out the video below for Anderson’s testimony, as it were. You'll also get a peak at a portion of  video footage taken from a camera at the Border Patrol Station. What would you have done? Was the Pastor at fault, or were the Officials?
