Many fans have been waiting patiently for American Idol’s Danny Gokey to produce a few hits since he was on the show. Now they need wait no further, Gokey’s single “It’s Only” unofficially hit the airwaves November 6th. The single debuted on MySpace and YouTube as well as on the all country hits radio station FM 106.1 in Gokey’s home town of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Giving a clue in to the content of the new single and soon-to-be-released album, on his MySpace page Gokey states, “I have two passions, music (entertainment) and helping people. It’s not religious. It’s not political. It’s only love!”
Gokey was second runner up on the last season of American Idol's competition, losing out to Kris Allen on his run at the title but he obviously hasn’t lost out with his fans. No doubt, like many other Idol contestants who didn’t make it to first place, he will be wildly successful nonetheless.
“It’s Only” is a beautiful ballad that speaks of life, love and Jesus Christ. Sung with a sweet, soulful voice, “It’s Only” is sure to hit the Christian charts in a big way, even though Gokey’s official genre listed with RCA of Nashville is ‘Country’. While his tunes may sound country, there is no doubt this singer has a heart for Jesus.
