Former Stanford standout Nicole Powell did not have one of her best offensive nights on Tuesday, but she made her points count while helping the Sacramento Monarchs to an 83-73 victory over the Chicago Sky in WNBA action.

Powell was limited to 10 points, more than five below her average, but two of her three field goals were pivotal.   The Monarchs (3-8) held a tenuous two-point lead when Powell got her first field goal of the game, a three-pointer, which gave   Sacramento a 29-24 advantage with 5:09 left in the first half.

The Monarchs built a 13-point lead early in the fourth quarter, but the Sky had whittled the margin down to four points when Powell halted the comeback with a three-pointer at the 2:50 mark that provided a comfortable 75-68 lead.

Powell added seven rebounds and three assists with just one turnover to help the Monarchs win the home game.
