The total of confirmed cases of swine flu in Florida has risen to 166 with no deaths reported statewide.
?The Miami-Dade County Department of Health said today that the county has 65 confirmed cases of swine flu. Miami-Dade Director of Disease Control Fermin Leguen explained that the increase in the rate of swine flu cases being reported is probably just because testing is being done locally instead of through the CDC
The CDC has sent testing kits to four main testing sites in Florida, so all testing is now being done in the state and is no longer being sent to the CDC.
Since the outbreak of the H1N1 flu in the United States in April, there have been a total of 10,053 cases in all 50 states and Washington, D.C., resulting in 17 deaths.
