1. A high efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filter is essential when fighting to remove allergens from the home. WebMD shows they capture 98% of unseen particles, and it has been proven to dominate in the trapping of pet dander and pollen.   Light, portable, and easy to maintain, HEPA filters come in an assortment of sizes, ranging from tabletop to room-size. If you are interested in more information, or to check the highest quality of filters, look at units that have been tested by the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers and check the clean air delivery rate (CDC). This will be a true showing of who is cleaning and who is just stirring air.

2. Leave it outside. Many irritants such as pesticides, dust, mildew, and even smoke get brought into your house on a daily basis by the bottom of your shoes. Don’t give these germs a chance to fester and grow inside, worsening asthma symptoms and increasing allergen culmination. Instead, buy a welcome mat and place it outside the door. Now, visitors can wipjdcowflicker.come off their sneakers or even remove their shoes before entering, leaving you one step closer to fresh air.

Also, beware of carpet. It may be beautiful to look at and heavenly to touch, but it comes at a hefty price for those with allergies. Its deep follicles and matting is a breeding ground for dust, mold, and pet hair, collecting and holding them captive until cleaned. If you are looking for a way out, go for tile, wood, or another flooring style; just remember to keep it clean.

3. Irrigation of the sinuses has shown to be highly productive in both treating and preventing seasonal allergies. Recently, neti pots have become available in both health food and drug stores, and they have been used in India for thousands of years to flush the sinuses and keep the nose clear. First, you must fill the pot with lukewarm saltwater. Then, lean your head sideways over the sink, put the spout into your nostril, and pour water through your nose, allowing it to drain out of the other side. Granted, it is a bit strange at first, but it is extremely effective if used correctly. Do this for both nostrils, and gently blow your nose after the flushing is completed to open up the senses.
