The right-wing's attack on ACORN's voter registration drive is perhaps one of the great overblown stories of the 2008 presidential campaign.

From most accounts in the mainstream media, ACORN (the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now) is the victim of fraud rather than the perpetrator of it. Yet this does not stop conservative such as Rush Limbaugh and Sarah Palin (see below) from passing along falsehoods about ACORN corruption and its connection to Democrat Barack Obama.

For those interested in this discussion, see the debate over ACORN's activities that appeared on Democracy Now this morning on Pacifica Radio. Also, see MSNBC's Keith Olbermann's report on the made-up controversy during his Countdown show last night.
