Just in time for the holidays, the U.S. Marshals Service will hold an auction of Madoff’s jewelry and other items on Saturday, November 14th at 10:00 A.M.
The auction will be held at the New York Sheraton Hotel and Towers located at 811 7th Avenue at 52nd St., in the Metropolitan Ballroom. Gaston & Sheehan Auctioneers, NYC will conduct the event. A preview will be held on Friday November 13th, from 11 to 4. The event will also be simulcast. Auction articles include fine jewelry, watches, artwork and furs.
The Marshals Service is hoping to raise as much money as possible for the benefit of Madoff’s victims. U.S. Marshal Service spokesman Roland Ubaldo said, “Our goal since day one has been to maximize the returns to the victims.” The announcement brought a new round of media mania and has drawn intense interest from prospective bidders.
Bernie will have little use for his cherished belongings, due to an extended stay in prison lasting 150 years after pleading guilty in the multi billion-dollar scheme. Victims included retirees, celebrities and sadly, charities.
