Shopping for a wedding dress can be stressful to most brides. There are so many styles… what is one to do? Below is cheat sheet of tips to think about before browsing for the perfect wedding dress. These will help make it a fun experience, not a nightmare!

Decide on a budget! You must set a budget before you even think about shopping. The worst thing is to fall in love with a gown that you can’t afford. If you are a tight money limit, David’s Bridal, Jessica McClintock, and Maggie Sottero are great options with a wide variety of price ranges. Feel free to check your local boutiques as well—they may have some great sale dresses!

Plan ahead! Before you start to browse, choose a wedding dress color, look and style. Magazines are a wonderful resource, and don’t be afraid to look online—it will really help you to get a better idea of what you want. When you go shopping and you don't see what you want, leave asap!

Never go too small. Go one or two sizes up because the dress can always be taken in and hemmed. If you order a dress too small it could be a disaster. This involves expensive alterations and extra material.

Wear the your chosen undergarments and shoes. Spanx are great for hiding those unwanted areas, along with a pair of shoes that are the same height that you will be wearing with your dress.

If you can, come with your hair and makeup done. This way, you can see the big picture.

Be true to yourself! This cannot be stressed enough! Don’t choose a dress because others are telling you to do so. Choose something that you absolutely love, and more importantly, are comfortable in. Let your personality shine!
