Although Halloween is usually mostly geared towards kids, some folks like to take the concept one step further by dressing their dogs up for the occasion. While there are plenty of people out there who are against any form of doggie couture, many owners get a kick out of seeing their dogs all decked out in style. In fact, some people are even going so far as to throw at-home doggie fashion shows.

Not familiar with the concept? A doggie fashion show works much like a regular fashion show, only instead of watching models prance down the runway, you’ll get to check out the latest in doggie fashions and costumes. While most owners will have their participating pooches dressed up for laughs, some people – especially those who are serious about fashion – will have their pups strut their stuff in high-end designer gear.

Hosting an at-home doggie fashion show is a relatively straightforward affair. After all, it doesn’t take much to come up with a makeshift runway, and the rest is a simple matter of having ample refreshments on hand for both human and canine participants.

If the idea of a doggie fashion show sounds silly to you, then rest assured that you’re not alone. On the other hand, it doesn’t hurt for enthusiastic dog owners to indulge in a little bit of fun. Of course, when it comes to clothing and costumes, fussy dogs probably won’t fare well at a fashion show, but those that are willing to sport such adorably ridiculous getups will no doubt be rewarded with oohs, aahs, and tasty treats galore.

If you happen to find yourself in the position of having been invited to participate in such an event, then think it over before you RSVP with an emphatic “no.” After all, a doggie fashion show can actually be a lot of fun, and at the very least, it can provide some terrific photo opportunities for you and your fellow dog lovers to enjoy.
