Spread the word about these upcoming clinics.

  1. 1) The Sula Foundation, an organization dedicated to fostering responsible pit bull ownership, is offering a low-cost vaccination clinic this Saturday, October 3, at The Freret Street Market uptown. For pit bulls, the cost for complete vaccinations is $15 (including rabies, bordetella, and distemper). For all other breeds, it’s still a very low $45. If your pet is not yet altered, please make an appointment for a FREE spay/neuter surgery there.

    When: Saturday, 3 October noon – 5:00pm
Where: Freret Street Market. Look for the clinic van on Cadiz St. between Freret and South Robertson.
    Contact: info@sulafoundation.com
  1. 2) Dr. A.J. Hall’s traveling clinic offers affordable vaccinations in the area nearly every weekend at a local PetCo store. Bring your dog, cat, or ferret. Dog vaccination packs are $38; cat packs cost $36. Kitten and puppy vaccinations are the same price, respectively, and include deworming treatments. Other services include heartworm testing, microchipping, and flea and heartworm preventatives at a discount.

Things to know before you go: All animals must be leashed or in carriers. Appointments are not necessary but, if your pet is the anxious sort, arrive early to avoid a long wait. Keep in mind that these are vaccination clinics only. If your pet is in need of a check-up or emergency care, please make a separate appointment with your regular veterinarian.
