Under the direction of head coach Tim Corbin, the Vanderbilt baseball team has enjoyed unparalleled success in recent years.
Top picks in the Major League Baseball draft, other high round players and countless other athletes with pro potential are just a few of the examples of the caliber of player that Corbin is bringing here to Nashville.
But one thing fans outside of Nashville may not realize is the number of players for the Black and Gold that have represented the USA for the National Team.
Here is a breakdown of the players from Vandy to play for the team over the last six seasons:
2009: Sonny Gray (Pitcher)
2008: Mike Minor (Pitcher)
2007: Pedro Alvarez (Third Base); Ryan Flaherty (Shortstop); and Mike Minor (Pitcher)
2006: David Price (Pitcher); Casey Weathers (Pitcher); Pedro Alvarez (Third Base)
2005: David Price (Pitcher)
2004: Ryan Mullins (Pitcher)
Having at least one player represent the USA in each of the past six summers is a stat that very few teams in the college baseball world can match.
