It's New Comic Book Day. Let's see what's on the racks.

  • Black Summer paperback. What would happen if a superhero killed a President who'd lied to get the country into a stupid, wasteful war in the Middle East? Warren Ellis finds out in this collection of the series that starts out bloody and violent, and adds explosions from there.
  • Immortal Iron Fist: Orson Randall and the Death Queen: This one-shot -- which might have the longest title of any new release this week -- tells the story of the Golden Age Iron Fist, who uses .45s which fire bullets made of his chi energy. So yeah, that's pretty awesome. Written by Duane Swierczynski, author of The Wheelman and Severance Package.
  • Project Superpowers #6: Alex Ross, best known for his photo-realistic portraits of superheroes, breathes new life into characters mostly forgotten since WWII.
  • Wonder Woman: The Circle: A collection of issues from the series written by honorary Amazon Gail Simone, and featuring lots of cheesecake art from Terry and Rachel Dodson.
