Fifty years ago today, Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper died in a plane crash. It's best known as "the day the music died" from the phrase in Don McLean's song about the tragedy, "American Pie."

But Weezer's got a much happier song about Buddy Holly, and as much as I like Don McLean, I think that makes a less depressing tribute today.
