In just a couple of weeks, the city streets of Denver will be taken over by a bunch of runners. October 19th marks the Denver Marathon and Half Marathon. The race starts and finishes downtown in front of the Capitol. The course takes you through LoDo, Pepsi Center, Union Station, Coors Field, then makes it way through City Park, Cheesman park and Washington Park. Finally, runner’s will finish out the race passing through Denver’s art District.

Being new to the city I thought this might be a great way to see all that Denver has. Alas, I forgot about that whole high altitude thing when I got here 2 weeks ago! I think I’ll skip the running part for this year and join the most important people on the race course – The Volunteers. The race is still looking for plenty of volunteers, so if you’re looking for something to do on October 19th come out and help. If you’re considering signing up for your first marathon, seeing the action firsthand might make your decision easier.
