This list shows the top 10 actresses that have made the most at the box office. The list is based on total movie box office revenue. In other words, if you take all the movies the actress has starred in* and add up what they made at the box office, you will get the total box office revenues seen here. These are total earnings for the movies put together, not the actress’s salaries. The purpose is to see who the top drawing actresses are by how successful the movies have been during their careers. Statistics are from Box Office Mojo.
For complete information about how many movies the actresses have been in*, the total earnings these movies have brought in, the average per movie figure, the most successful movie with the particular actress, and a short biography simply click on the name to go to her page.
1) Julia Roberts
2) Cameron Diaz
3) Kirsten Dunst
4) Kathy Bates
5) Cate Blanchett
6) Liv Tyler
7) Drew Barrymore

Obviously, actresses who have been around the longest will have the advantage here. I will be bringing more “Top 10” lists, including lists based on things like per-movie highest grossing average. You may be surprised by names on that list.
* This does not count cameos, small voice work, or movies that omitted gross earnings
